NAME: Cocoa Beans & Cocoa Nibs

PREPARATION:

The cocoa tree (also known as cocoa) produces pods, around a hundred 
pods. Each of them contain between 25-75 cocoa beans.

HISTORY:

From a tropical culture only, reason why the Cocoa requires plenty of
moisture. It produced the first fruits between the 5th and the 7th 
year of life. Cocoa beans are composed of an envelope, the kernel and
a seed.

PRODUCTION:

When the beans are extracted from the pod, they are covered with a 
sticky liquid that is contained inside the the pod. For this reason,
the beans must be fermented and then dried.
